Dumfries Amateur Swimming Club was founded in 1964 and promotes swimming for all ages and abilities and offers a number of training sessions per week.

We are first and foremost a competitive swimming club, the name of our swim team is Dumfries Dolphins, our aim is to provide a high level of qualified expertise to help develop young swimmer into good quality competitive swimmers and help them achieve their maximum potential.

Swimmers are placed into squads that reflect their commitment, ability, attendance and ambition; these squads have squad criteria and structured sessions.

The Club has recently moved to the new DG One Leisure Complex at Hood's Loaning in Dumfries, the new facility provides the Club with an eight lane 25 metre main pool with daktronic electronic timing and digital score board and a four lane teaching pool with movable floor. This move has enabled the Club to increase the available pool time from 37.5 hours per week to 50.

The Club also has a very active master's squad, who train and compete regularly, but they also enjoy the social aspect that masters' swimming brings, new members are always welcome.
